Age-appropriate skills for infants, toddlers, and young children
your child will learn these aquatic skills
●For infants and toddlers, the training is a swim to float. They are taught to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their back and float unassisted for as long as necessary.
●For children who are developmentally ready, the training is a swim/float/swim sequence. Along with the above skills, these students learn to swim for safety while alternating swimming and rolling onto their back to float, rest, and breathe; and rolling back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool.
●Since statistics show that 83% of all children who drown are fully clothed at the time, during the final week of lessons, each student gets to practice their self-rescue skills in seasonal clothes.
the AE 0-4 experience
●Lessons are for infants and young children 8 months to 4 years.
●Customized to your child and taught one-on-one. Lesson experiences are unique. They are not group lessons and parents do not get into the water.
●Lessons are 10-15 minutes a day, 2-4 days a week. It takes approximately 8-10 weeks to master the developmentally appropriate skills being taught.
●After the initial lessons are complete, your child can participate in weekly or biweekly maintenance lessons. in order to continue building their swimming and floating skills.
